  • AIM Aquatics Program at Don Cook Natatorium

We believe swimming is a necessary life skill for every child. The Learn to Swim program, is a great way to be introduced into lifesaving skills at an early age. Each session includes 4 consecutive days of swim lessons. Water safety instruction will be integrated into the lessons throughout the program. Our certified instructors use a progressive teaching approach that allows swimmers to learn to swim comfortably at an individual pace, while creating a learning environment that is not only fun but allows for maximum skill retention. In addition to our Learn to Swim program, we are introducing new classes designed to support swimmers at every level and interest. Families can now enroll students for Lap Swimming, Swim Stroke Fundamentals, and Splashball. Our expanded program provides more opportunities for skill development, fitness, and fun in a safe and supportive environment. Click to view our Summer 2026 AIM Catalog. Registration opens March 9 at 9:00 am and closes 10 days prior to the start of each session. AIM Aquatics will have a parent meeting on May 27, 2026 from 6:30-7:30 pm. • Girls in Engineering, Math and Science (GEMS)

Studies have shown that women make up only 34% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering and math, and men vastly outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college. We believe it is imperative that FBISD continues to provide an educational system that will equip all students to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine. By creating a learning environment full of encouragement and confidence building, we are doing our part to empower and inspire our girls to explore their interest in the STEM field. On November 16, 2024, we will be hosting our 4th Annual GEMS Event at Anne Sullivan Elementary for girls in grades K-5 from across the district. On the day of the event, we start the morning with a motivational program that includes chants, performances, and a guest speaker. Students then have an opportunity to rotate to three different classes provided by our Success Zone vendors: American Robotics Academy, Black Rocket, Building Brains, Inventors & Engineers, Mad Science, and Nexplore. Seats are limited, so be sure to register today.
