    Put on your lab coats and get ready to STEM with Mad Science. Our goal is to make science fun, relatable and easy to learn! Every week we will explore a different science topic with experiments and exciting discussions that will be guided by a specially trained Mad Scientist. Semester at a Glance: Week Theme Lesson/Activity 1 Animals Students will learn what animals eat, how they adapt to their environments and protect themselves and how they communicate. 2 Get Connected Students will learn about vibrations, how sound travels, signals and different devices. 3 Mix it Up Students will learn how learn about different mixtures, their properties and molecules. 4 Life in the Sea Students will learn about the ocean and all the animals that live in different parts of the ocean. 5 Radical Robots Students will learn about robots and their actions. 6 Space Phenomena Students will learn about asteroids, meteoroids, comets, and space objects. 7 Living in Space Students will learn about life as an astronaut. 8 Planets and Moons Students will learn about our solar system. 9 Suns and Stars Students will learn about our galaxy, sun, and constellation. 10 Space Travel Parent Showcase Students will learn about the main parts of a rocket. Parents will also be invited to attend the last day of class.
  • Minecraft: Adventures in Modding

    Young coders will get a taste of coding using mods (modifications) that can be a real game-changer. Minecraft is one of the world's most popular video games because it allows the player to express their creativity in designing new worlds. Using drag and drop commands, students will see that programming takes Minecraft’s creative freedom to the next level! Learning to mod in Minecraft is the gateway to a rewarding adventure of creativity and computer skills that can be taken from video games and put in the real world. Semester at a Glance: Week Project Lesson/Activity 1 Introduction to Minecraft Students learn the basics of Minecraft and controls on the keyboard. 2 Pixel Art Students learn what pixel art is and practice art skills. 3 Introduction to Mods Part 1 Students are introduced to Minecraft modding via worldedit, which allows the user to create block brushes, students practice keyboard skills. 4 Mods Part 2 Students continue using worldedit and using the selection wand. 5 Introduction to MCreator Students get to make their very first mod with MCreator! Students get to create their own custom “ingot” item. 6 Blocks in MCreator Students learn how to make their own custom block and how to change its properties. 7 Ores and Recipes in MCreator Students learn how to make custom recipes for their items and how to make blocks act and spawn as Ores. 8 Tools and Armor in MCreator Students learn how to make their own custom weapons, tools, and armor in Minecraft with their own special attributes and powers. 9 Final Project: Biome Students begin work on their final project, which is creating their own biome. 10 Final Project: Biome & Presentation Students will finish up their biomes, then present their biome and other mod elements to their parents!
  • STEAM Tank Entrepreneur

    Calling all innovative and inventive kids to an adventure in STEAM and entrepreneurship! You and your team will design, create, and open a new business this semester. Semester at a Glance: Weeks Theme Lesson/Activity 1 & 2 Pizzeria Entrepreneur Build your own pizza business by designing your logo, menu, and pizza oven. Calculate your profit and learn more about being an entrepreneur. 3 & 4 Sweet Entrepreneur Do you love candy and want to open a candy store? Learn about the business model, how to advertise and then design and build your own candy dispenser! 5 & 6 Pet Entrepreneur This is a must for all future Veterinarians. Students will design a spa and grooming business for your furry friends and develop a business plan on how to open your own pet grooming business. 7 & 8 Slime Entrepreneur We all love slime! Brainstorm different recipes for your slime business and special containers and then develop a plan to sell your brand specific slime in the stores. 9 & 10 Haunted Entrepreneur/Parent Showcase Design, build and test your very own haunted house. Add attractions, rides and more to get more traffic at your location. Parents will be invited to the last class to join the students.
  • Yoga

    Your student will be introduced to child-centered yoga which will improve their focus and help direct their energy. Classes will focus on breathing, stretching and poses. New poses will be introduced each week, building upon previously learned material. Fun games and stories are also incorporated.   • Cooking & Baking 101

    Each week students learn basic cooking skills using a variety of recipes from sweet to savory, dinner to dessert.Classes reinforce literacy, math, science, nutrition and social skills, while exploring diverse foods.This is an eight-week class and accommodates nut allergies only.   • iCode Robotics

    In this class, students will build robots and learn the skills of programming and engineering used to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles. While students work to complete multi-phased challenges, they will realize that teamwork is needed to solve the problems of tomorrow! Semester at a Glance: Week Project Lesson/Activity 1 Introduction, Fan Robot Students are introduced to the Lego WeDo Kits and have a discussion on what defines a robot. For the lab, students build a fan robot and watch it move. 2 Crash course on Scratch, Wheel Car Students learn how to connect Lego WeDo robots to the computer on their own. For the lab, students build a wheel car robot and learn how to program it to move. 3 Movement, WobbleBot Students learn about different types of movement and how robots can move. For the lab, students build a wobble robot and program it to move. 4 Gears, Turn Robot Students learn about gears and why they are important to robotics. For the lab, students build a turning robot with gears and program it to move. 5 Motion Sensor, MotionBot Students learn about the motion sensor in the Lego WeDo kit and how motion sensors are used in real life. For the lab, students build a robot using a motion sensor and program it to detect motion. 6 Tilt Sensor, TiltBot Students learn about the tilt sensor in the Lego WeDo kit and how tilt sensors are used in real life. For the lab, students build a robot using a tilt sensor and program it to detect direction. 7 Motors, MiloBot Students learn all about motors. For the lab, students build Milo the rover and program him to move. 8 Ethics, Racecar Students learn about the ethics of building robots and what it means to make robots for ethical purposes. For the lab, students build a racecar and have a race. 9 Final Project, Part 1 Students get in groups and plan out an idea for their final project, which is a robot of their own design. The robot needs to serve a specific purpose and be ethical. 10 Final Project, Part 2 Students make finishing touches on their robots and later present them to their parents!

    The world of music is a beautiful place. In Piano 101 students will learn how to play the keyboard while having fun. All equipment will be provided during class. Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Keys on the Piano Students will be introduced to the Middle C and piano finger numbers 2 Music Alphabet, Finger Placement Students will learn the value of the Middle C and finger placement 3 Hearing Various Keystrokes Students will learn a basic warm up and learn how to listen for different keystrokes. 4 Song Introduction Students will be introduced to a song and learn the different keystrokes. 5 Learning Notes Students will continue with their warmups and learn notes. 6 Song Introduction Students will be introduced to another song, learn the different keystrokes, and continue practicing the other songs. 7 Song Introduction Students will be introduced to another song, learn the different keystrokes, and continue practicing the other songs. 8 Song Introduction Students will be introduced to another song, learn the different keystrokes, and continue practicing the other songs. 9 Preparation for Recital Students will select which song they will perform. 10 Recital Day Parents will be invited to the last class to see their students perform.
