In this class, kids will learn essential basketball skills while having a blast on the court. Our experienced coaches foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Intro to Basketball Learn coordination and conditioning. 2 Dribbling Basics Learn how to properly dribble a basketball. 3 Passing + Catching Practice chest and bounce passes. 4 Shooting Techniques Learn layups and practice free throws. 5 Defensive Skills Work on defensive drills, such as closeout defense and steal and recover. 6 Offensive Strategies Work on offensive drills, such as fast breaks and pick and roll. 7 Teamwork + Communication Learn how to work together as a team. 8 Review + Game Play Review what we learned and hold scrimmages.

Classes are tailored to each school and the interest of the students in the class.     Let’s meet INDI! This class is entry level robot that is designed to introduce early learners to the fundamentals of computational thinking, STEAM, and computer science principles. INDI encourages open ended, imaginative play-based learning with real-life scenarios as leaners build custom mazes, solve puzzles, and drive. As students learn pattern recognition, creating and using algorithms, decomposition, and understanding abstractions they will become better thinkers and problem solvers. Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Introduction to Indi Students will review how to use color tiles to program Indi's movements. They will experiment with different tile combinations to navigate simple mazes. 2 Intro to Indi Commands & Colors Indi the Car and the Magical Rainbow 3 Indi Car Adventures Create a simple path following directions. 4 Indi Car and his Reventure Explore turns and directions. 5 Mini City Race time!     Drumline is an exciting course within the world of marching percussion where marching snares, tenors, and basses are the focus! This is a performance class where students learn the value of teamwork, rhythm, and count. All equipment will be provided during class. Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Counting and Constructing a Beat Students will learn the principals of counting and construct a beat that incorporates the hi-hats, snare drum, and bass drum. 2 Holding Drum Sticks Students will learn how to hold drum sticks properly and start playing on drum pads. 3 Playing Snare Drums and Drum Set Posture Students will learn the proper posture when playing the drums. 4 Counting Students will learn about counting and playing at the same time. 5 Singles and Doubles Students will learn singles and doubles and practice with a metronome. 6 Song Selection, Singles and Doubles (continuation) Students will select a song and practice the beats. 7 Practice for Recital, Singles and Doubles (continuation) Students will continue to practice for their recital performance. 8 Recital Day Parents will be invited to the last class to see their child’s performance.

  • Foundational Martial Arts

    Welcome to the CCC Martial Arts and Character Education Program, where students will embark on a dynamic journey of physical fitness, mental focus, and character development through the art of Taekwondo. This is a multi-semester course, with this first semester being a beginner-level, foundational program designed for 2nd- to 5th-grade students. Over eight weeks, students will learn the basic stances, blocks, and kicks of Taekwondo, while developing discipline, respect, and confidence. This course is an excellent starting point for any child interested in martial arts and will equip them with valuable skills that will aid their transition to future martial arts training opportunities. The semester will culminate in a promotional test where students will have the opportunity to earn their first belt stripe, recognizing their hard work and progress. See a magnetic accelerator in action. Take home your very own Magnet Lab to continue your research about how magnets work in everyday life. 4 Optical Illusions Can your eyes trick your brain? Discover how mirrors and their reflections can confuse your sight. Make popular illusions out of everyday materials. Put together a Periscope to see above and beyond as your turn a pair of mirrors into a tool. 5 Acids & Bases Discover the world of pH and find out what acid and base is. Test certain solutions with pH strips and see how strong a base or acid are and compare them to the pH scale. Students will also observe a couple of acid-base reactions and see the chemical changes that occur. 6 Dinosaurs Students examine fossil casts and explore the differences in the teeth of herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. After learning about fossilization, children embark on a mini fossil excavation and make a case of a dinosaur tooth to take home. 7 Harness the Wind Air and wind are two very different things, and the students will get to discover what they are. They will go over Bernoulli’s Principle and find out how this principle can help flight. 8 Matter of Fact Students explore molecules and the forces that hold atoms together. They learn to sort out differences between physical and chemical changes and mix up a batch of fun science to stretch their learning at home.

    Now is the time to explore and battle in uncharted territory. In this class, battle-bots evaluate the potential of a rough and dangerous area before moving in to save a Bot! Experts need you to build a variety of unique robots with an awesome skill set, capable of driving over any obstacle and overcoming any unfamiliar elements or elevation changes in this treacherous landscape. Students will use gears, create structural integrity, and IR Technology to overcome the unknown. Can your robot not only survive, but thrive in the bot-battle? Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Getting to know your elements and kit Students will be challenged to explore kit pieces and be able to identify the element with a LEGO bingo card and build a movable invention. 2 LEGO tips and tricks – Formula Car Students will learn about axels, wheels, and gears. Let the races begin! 3 Go Cart Students will build a Go Cart and compete in a Go Cart race. 4 Inclined Plane Students will build 3 types of builds using different ideas and then compare them. 5 Daisy Dasher Students will build the Daisy Dasher and be up to the challenge of delivering their pizza item to the right house under one minute. 6 Shifter Students will learn all about gears and discuss power vs. speed. 7 Sherman P3 Students will have their bots push weighted bricks across a start/finish line and modify to push more bricks. 8 Builder’s Choice/Parent Showcase Students will get to showcase to their parents their favorite builds and what they’ve learned in our class.
