Before and After School Programming
Success Zone is the youth component of FBISD's Community Education Program.
Beginner Level: Lessons will take place in a four-foot deep pool. PreK students must wear a life jacket when seated by the pool, awaiting their turn with the swim instructor.
Day 1: Students will be introduced to the pool facility and a warm-up activity. Students will take a swim test to gauge their comfort level and water proficiency. Beginner swim lessons will acclimate students to the water and learn important water safety rules.
Day 2: Students will continue swim lessons, focusing on arm movement and kicking. If needed, attention can be given to those who struggle with putting their face under water and holding their breath.
Day 3: Water safety is revisited, with safety lesson #2. Lessons continue, focusing on arm movement and kicking with more independence.
Day 4: Students get to display what they have learned, in an Olympic-style fashion; this includes relay races and other fun activities!
