Students will explore the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or colored lacquer, turning imperfections into a source of beauty. In this hands-on workshop, students will mend and transform their own pieces, learning how to embrace mistakes as opportunities for creativity and expression. This experience fosters patience, mindfulness, and artistic skill, while encouraging students to see value in uniqueness and imperfection. In Comfort Food for Kids, students will explore the joy of making classic foods that kids love. This hands-on class introduces young chefs to basic cooking skills all while having fun. Join us for a sweet week of creativity as young decorators learn how to shape, color, and design adorable fondant cupcake toppers! Each day, campers will create new beach-themed pieces—like flip-flops, seashells, and surfboards—while learning hands-on decorating skills. On the final day, parents are invited to join our Cupcake Beach Party Showcase, where students use their fondant toppers to decorate cupcakes and show off their amazing creations! Students become songwriters as they reimagine familiar songs and transform them into original musical creations. Working independently or in small groups, they’ll experiment with lyrics, rhythm, and storytelling while expressing their unique perspectives. The program concludes with a fun performance celebration, giving students the opportunity to share their musical masterpieces with an audience of family and friends. Along the way, they collect special Mayan Explorer Clues hidden throughout their adventures, leading to a final celebration at the end of the week. Every day introduces children to a new aspect of the Riviera Maya while immersing them in Spanish through meaningful, engaging experiences. Adventures in the Mayan Riviera – Weekly Adventure Summary Day 1: Ancient Mayan Adventures Campers begin their journey by exploring the fascinating world of the ancient Maya. They discover the famous pyramid of Chichén Itzá, learn about Mayan culture and traditions, practice Spanish greetings, and become young explorers searching for their first Mayan Explorer Clue. Day 2: Secrets of the Jungle The adventure continues deep into the tropical rainforest. Campers discover monkeys, parrots, jaguars, rivers, and cenotes while learning about the amazing animals and ecosystems of the Riviera Maya. Along the way, they uncover another hidden clue. Day 3: Music, Fiesta, and Mayan Symbols The celebration begins as campers explore traditional music, dance, drums, masks, and ancient Mayan glyphs. Through hands-on activities, movement, and creativity, they experience the vibrant sounds and traditions of the Riviera Maya while discovering another special clue. Day 4: The Treasure of the Riviera Maya Campers put together all the clues they collected throughout the week and celebrate everything they have learned. During a fun-filled finale, they discover that the greatest treasures are friendship, adventure, learning Spanish, and exploring new cultures together.
