Discover the fun and creativity of sewing in this hands-on class designed for beginners! Students will learn essential sewing skills, including threading needles, tying knots, creating basic stitches, and following simple patterns. As their confidence grows, they will apply these techniques to create a variety of projects to take home and enjoy.

Week Lesson
1 Safety talk and rules (needles, pins, scissors, workspace, etc.) Learning the dos and don’ts on the sewing machine. Each child will be given their own sketch book.
2 Learn how to thread a needle and tie a knot. (Practice with yarn and plastic needles). Work on a sketch. Learn how to sew on a machine.
3 Hand sewing. Work on a sketch and learning the variations of fabric along with cutting out patterns.
4 Stitch sewing on the sewing machine. Sew along pre-drawn lines, curves, and corners.
5-9 Prior week’s 1-4 will roll into weeks 5-9 along with sewing and designing.
10 Sewing design presentation.
