    Does your child LOVE to cook? Do you have a picky eater? This introductory level food literacy program teaches simple cooking techniques, food origins, seasonal recipes, and kitchen safety while having hands-on fun! Students gain self- confidence and priceless life skills while reinforcing core academics. Each session brings a different themed syllabus. This class can accommodate nut allergies.   • Crochet for Beginners

    In this beginner-friendly crochet class, students will learn how to turn yarn into amazing masterpieces Over the course, students will learn basic stitches, practice simple patterns, and complete projects that they will be proud of. Week Skills 1 Learning the art of Crochet (holding the crochet needle in one hand and holding the yarn in the other. 2 Crochet a chain stitch and or magic ring; along with learning how to crochet by crochet. 3 Repeat week 1 and 2. 4 Learning to crochet (students will be given a choice to select what they would like to crochet for their project. For example, a scarf, hat, critter, small blanket, pillow, mittens, and so on.) 5-9 Repeat of 1-4 10 Present crochet project to parents.
  • Grow a Garden: Building a Business

    In this course, students will discover how businesses work by planting, investing, and earning in the game Grow a Garden, making big ideas easy to understand. Through gameplay, students experience concepts like profit, reinvestment, supply and demand, and diversification in action. Each week ties gameplay back to real-life entrepreneurship, teaching students how business lessons apply outside the game. Week Skill Lesson/Activity 1 What is a business? Students learn what a business is and start a garden in the game. 2 Investment and startups Students explore how much it costs to start their own business and how to track expenses. 3 Profit and reinvestment Students calculate profits and practice reinvesting in new seeds. 4 Supply and demand Students see how crop value changes with demand. 5 Diversification Students discuss the importance of not relying on a singular source for income. 6 Marketing and branding Students create a logo and slogan for their business. 7 Risk and reward Students face “what-if” scenarios and practice making business decisions. 8 Scaling up Students plan how to grow their farm even bigger. 9 Business fair practice Students create presentations and begin presenting to get feedback from peers. 10 Final showcase: Garden Market Students do their final pitch in a fun business fair

    Discover the world through clay! Students will set off on a hands-on tour of global ceramic traditions while mastering sculpting and painting skills using both hand-building and the pottery wheel. Each class is an adventure—young claymakers pinch, coil, and shape their creations as they "stamp" their passports through time and place. From dragons to tiles, amulets to pots, every project sparks imagination and creativity. Dive into vibrant art-making that builds fine motor skills, cultural awareness, and a love of learning! Project Description Objectives Lesson 1: Native American Pinchpot Students make a pinchpot, learn rolling & pinching techniques, and explore how this piece was used by Native Americans and around the ancient world. 1. Use palms to roll a ball of clay and fingers and thumb to pinch clay walls. 2. Identify styles and uses of Native American pottery. 3. Sculpt a pinch pot. Lesson 2: Egyptian Scarab Beetle Amulets Students make an amulet, learn flattening & carving techniques, and explore how art can have religious and cultural meaning. 1. Flatten clay using tools and hands and carve into a clay slab. 2. Discuss the cultural significance of beetles in Egypt and analyze their symbolic meaning in art. 3. Sculpt an amulet with a beetle in the Egyptian style. Lesson 3: Intro to Painting & the Pottery Wheel Students paint their pottery, learn to paint using multiple coats and patterns, and discover the history of painting pottery. Each student is given the opportunity to create an experimental piece on the wheel, and they learn about the history of the pottery wheel in the Near East and around the world. 1. Create a pattern with paint using contrast and repetition. 2. Paint their pottery pieces with multiple coats. 3. Use the potter’s wheel safely and implement basic wheel strategies to raise a piece. Lesson 4: Burkina Faso Coil Pot Students make a coil pot, learn snaking & coiling techniques, and explore the practical uses of coil pots in Western Africa. 1. Discuss the creation and uses of coil pots in Burkina Faso and other parts of Western Africa. 2. Make a durable snake of clay by rolling and estimating its thickness and length. 3. Sculpt a coil pot. Lesson 5: Mexican Sun Faces Students make a sun face, learn slipping & scoring techniques, and explore folk art traditions. 1. Attach pieces of clay to a base using slipping and scoring techniques. 2. Define folk art, identify common traditions, and examine its significance in Mexico and other regions. 3. Sculpt a sun that resembles the traditional Aztec piece. Lesson 6: Painting Colors & Pottery Wheel Bowl Shape Students paint their pottery, learn about color theory and mixing colors, and explore the cultural significance of colors. Students experiment with making a bowl-shaped figure on the wheel. Note: Students cannot drink or eat from their pottery creation. 1. Define primary, secondary, and tertiary colors and use paints to mix them. 2. Explain the personal and cultural significance of colors. 3. Throw a pottery piece on the potter’s wheel, using pulling strategies to form a bowl shape. Lesson 7: Portuguese Azulejos Students make a tile, learn to slap clay into a square, and explore the decorative and storytelling power of ceramics. 1. Use hands and tools to form a clay slab in a square. 2. Examine humans’ long history of using carving to create narratives in Europe and around the world. 3. Carve a personally significant object into a tile in the azulejo style. Lesson 8: Indian Rimmed Dish Students make a flat dish, learn pulling & rim-making techniques, and explore the symbolism of natural objects in South Asia. 1. Pull the sides of a plate to create a rim. 2. Explain the symbolic value of natural objects (leaves, lotus flowers, vines, etc.) in India and elsewhere in South Asia. 3. Create a round plate with a rim that imitates an Indian-style dish. Lesson 9: Chinese Dragon Students make a Chinese dragon, learn intricate carving and free-standing sculpting techniques, and explore the history of mythical creatures in Asian pottery. 1. Combine multiple strategies (carving, snaking, slipping, scoring, etc.) to create a freestanding pottery piece. 2. Discuss mythical creatures and their cultural significance in China and around the world. 3. Sculpt a dragon. Lesson 10: Painting Symbols & Mini Greek Vase on Pottery Wheel Students paint their pottery, learn to paint objects, and explore the symbolic meaning of objects in different cultures. They practice making a shape inspired by a Greek vase on the pottery wheel. 1. Paint objects onto their pottery pieces. 2. Discuss the symbolic meaning of objects in painting around the world. 3. Throw a piece on the potter’s wheel and use pulling techniques to shape it into a vase resembling an amphora shape.

    Our soccer class is designed for students interested in learning the foundational skills and concepts of the game in a supportive and energetic environment. Instruction will focus on essential techniques such as proper footwork, passing, trapping, scoring, and basic defensive and offensive movement. Students will participate in age-appropriate drills and guided game-like activities that promote coordination, spatial awareness, quick thinking, and confidence in the field. Throughout the program, players will practice teamwork, communication, and fair play while developing a strong understanding of how the game works.     Adventure Quest in Latin America is an exciting, immersive thematic unit that takes children on a vibrant cultural journey through México, Perú, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. Throughout the unit, students explore each country’s geography, traditions, music, animals, foods, and famous landmarks while building Spanish vocabulary and practicing simple conversational structures. Through interactive games, storytelling, and movement-based activities, children experience the rich diversity of Latin America in a playful and engaging way. Each class highlights a destination, allowing students to compare cultures, celebrate unique traditions, and develop cultural awareness while strengthening language skills in a dynamic, fun, and exploratory learning environment. We offer a different thematic unit each semester so children can keep learning about different things and stay engaged while learning Spanish. Families will have access to our digital platform, where they can download songs, games, activities, guides, and the complete thematic unit book. Week Curriculum/Thematic Topic 1 Thematic Curriculum: México - Land of colors and traditions (Part 1): The students will learn about México’s unique cultural traditions and famous landmarks, will learn vocabulary related to family, food, music, celebrations, and greetings in Spanish, and will practice using these words in simple sentence structures while engaging in activities that introduce Mexican history and daily life. 2 Thematic Curriculum: México - Music, Legends, Art, and Creativity (Part 2): The students will learn about Mexican music, dance, legends, and artistic traditions, will expand their vocabulary by learning words related to animals, artwork, and cultural symbols, and will use this vocabulary in simple conversational structures as they explore Mexican storytelling, art, and movement-based activities. 3 Thematic Curriculum: Perú – Landscapes, Culture, and Inca Wonders (Part 1): The students will learn about the country of Perú, including its diverse landscapes and the ancient Inca civilization, and will learn vocabulary to describe mountains, rivers, jungles, and cultural symbols, and will use these words in simple sentence structures while discussing the significance of Machu Picchu and other important places in Perú. 4 Thematic Curriculum: Perú – Animals, Festivals, Art, and Daily Life (Part 2): The students will learn about Peruvian animals, festivals, music, and artistic traditions, and will learn vocabulary to describe animals, foods, celebrations, and dances, and will use it in simple sentence structures as they participate in activities that explore Peruvian daily life, legends, and cultural celebrations. 5 Thematic Curriculum: Argentina – Landmarks, and Gaucho Culture (Part 1): The students will learn about Argentina’s cultural traditions such as tango and gaucho life, and will learn vocabulary to describe dances, traditions, landmarks, and cultural symbols, and will use it in simple sentence structures while discussing important places and cultural practices found throughout Argentina. 6 Thematic Curriculum: Argentina – Sports, Weather, Patagonia, and Everyday Traditions (Part 2): The students will learn about Argentine sports, foods, and the landscapes of Patagonia, and will learn vocabulary to describe weather, seasons, sports, and foods, and will use it in simple sentence structures while discussing how climate and daily traditions vary across different regions of Argentina. 7 Thematic Curriculum: Colombia – Biodiversity, Culture, and Daily Life (Part 1): The students will learn about Colombia’s diverse landscapes and animals, and will learn vocabulary to describe wildlife, food, and daily life in Colombia and learn to use it in simple sentence structures, and will discuss how Colombia’s different regions—from the Amazon rainforest to the Caribbean coast—offer unique cultural and natural experiences. 8 Thematic Curriculum: Colombia – Music, Dance, Legends, and Celebrations (Part 2): The students will learn about Colombian music, traditional dances, and famous celebrations, and will learn vocabulary to describe songs, dances, weather, and cultural traditions and learn to use it in simple sentence structures, and will discuss how Colombian festivals, legends, and artistic expressions reflect the country’s diverse cultural heritage. 9 Thematic Curriculum: Chile – Geography, Nature, and Indigenous Culture: The students will learn about Chile’s diverse geography, including the Atacama Desert, Easter Island, and Patagonia, and will learn vocabulary to describe landscapes, animals, and natural features and learn to use it in simple sentence structures, and will discuss how different regions of Chile offer unique environments and cultural traditions. 10 Review; final showcase.
