    Our cheer program will provide your participant with all the spirit, cheers, chants, jumps and dancing they can handle! We also incorporate social emotional learning or SEL activities that focus on team building, problem solving, social awareness and more! Participants will learn new skills each week and at the end of our cheer program; students will have built the confidence to put on an exciting cheerleading showcase with a full routine of the cheers, chants, jumps and dances!     Our chefs-in-training will learn how to make delicious and nutritious recipes inspired by international cuisine. We will travel across the globe to learn about cuisine and traditions of Europe, Southeast Asia, Central America, and beyond. We will learn about fresh herbs and vegetables, and how they enhance the aroma and flavors of our dishes. We will master cooking safety, slicing, dicing, chopping, folding, baking, zesting, mixing, and more! All ingredients and supplies will be provided!   • Hip-Hop Dance

    Students will explore various hip-hop dance styles, techniques, and choreography, allowing them to express themselves creatively. This engaging activity not only enhances physical fitness and coordination but also fosters teamwork and boosts self-esteem. At the end of the course, students will showcase their skills in a final performance. Semester at a Glance Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Basics & Foundation Students will get familiar with basic moves and foundational techniques. They will explore performing skills. 2 Understanding dance and performing Students will learn the terminology and concepts related to dance. They will go over their basics choreography and practice performing skills 3 Basic Footwork and Grooves Students will practice essential footwork and grooves used in hip-hop dance. 4 Popping and Locking Techniques/performing etiquette Students will be introduced to popping and locking, focusing on isolations and controlled movements. Rehearse group work and solos. 5 Introduction to Freestyle Students will explore freestyle dancing to enhance creativity and personal expression. 6 Choreography Introduction A new hip-hop routine will be introduced, with students learning the first part of the choreography. 7 Mid-Choreography Practice Students will continue to learn and practice the middle section of the choreography. 8 Final Showcase Students will perform the choreographed routine in a showcase, demonstrating their skills and creativity.

    Unlock the power of ROBLOX® Studio, the world creation tool used by real-world ROBLOX® developers! Learn how to build 3D models and create an adventure in your ROBLOX® world. Bring characters to life with unique animations you design. Student-created projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Semester at a Glance Week Lesson/Activity 1 Terrain Generation and Modification – introduce Roblox Studio and learn the terrain tools. 2 Basic 3D modeling with Roblox Studio – part editing and creating models and exporting assets. 3 Create a structure and use the Roblox toolbox. 4 Advance 3D modeling with Roblox studio. 5 Free build and create character outfits. 6 Create custom non-player characters. 7 Branch dialog trees. 8 Export and apply the animations.     Give your child the gift of another language with our Spanish class. Our music and play based methodology are fun, interactive, and innovative, helping children acquire the language through games and fun activities. This semester’s thematic unit is My Five Senses. Semester at a Glance Week Can-Do Statement 1 Core Curriculum: The students can greet someone politely; can introduce themselves when they meet people and tell someone their name; can ask someone how they are doing; can tell someone how they are doing; can tell someone whether or not they understand them; can pronounce the vowels in Spanish; can say goodbye politely. Thematic Curriculum: The students can use verbs related to the five senses to describe what they experience in simple sentences, and they can recognize and understand simple sentences when someone describes what they experience using verbs related to the five senses. 2 Core Curriculum: The students can count up to ten; can respond to questions such as their age; can ask someone their age; can count how many colors are in the rainbow; can name days of the week; can answer when asked what day is today; can explain that in Spanish the days of the week are not capitalized; can say some activities they do in different on different days. Thematic Curriculum: Sense of Sight - The students can say what they see using simple phrases, such as 'I see a tree,' 'I see a dog,' or 'I see a book.' The students can respond to questions about what they see and ask others about what they see using simple phrases. 3 Core Curriculum: The students can greet someone based on the time of the day; can name foods they like; can name some foods they dislike; can name some of their favorite places to visit and find them in the map; can say where they live and where their family is from. Thematic Curriculum: Sense of Smell - The students can say what they smell using simple phrases, and they can recognize and understand words or phrases about things they can smell. The students can respond to questions about what they smell and ask others about what they smell using simple phrases. 4 Core Curriculum: The students can answer when asked how they are feeling; can name some members of their family; can say if they think their family is big or small. Students can say if they have a pet and describe their pets. The students can respond to questions about what they taste and ask others about what they taste using simple phrases. 5 Core Curriculum: The students can use some words to describe the weather; can say when they are hungry; can name some months of the year; can answer when asked which month are we in. Thematic Curriculum: Review of the senses of Sight, Smell and Taste. 6 Core curriculum: The students can say which month their birthday is in; can say when they are thirsty; can say the name of some beverages they like to drink; can say the names of some fruits; can say the color of the fruits; can say if a food is a vegetable or not. Thematic Curriculum: Sense of Touch - The students can say what they feel and touch using simple phrases, and they can recognize and understand words or phrases about things they can feel and touch. The students can respond to questions about what they feel and touch and ask others about what they feel and touch using simple phrases. 7 Core Curriculum: The students can express their emotions; can use opposite emotions accurately and can ask someone how they are doing.; can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Thematic Curriculum: Sense of Hearing - The students can say what they hear using simple phrases, and they can recognize and understand words or phrases about things they can hear. The students can respond to questions about what they hear and ask others about what they hear using simple phrases. 8 Party/Fiesta; final showcase. * The order in which the core curriculum topics and vocabulary are incorporated may vary. * We follow a spiral curriculum in which each class will begin with a review of concepts previously learned, and, after incorporating the new content, we will close with a review of the concepts learned that class. * Can-do statements describe the goal of what we want learners to independently do after a lesson.

The adrenaline they get to keep the ball in the air during a game is like no other! No prior volleyball experience is required as our coaches focus on the FUN of learning volleyball.   • Watercolor Pencils

    This fun visual art class focuses on creating compositions using traditional visions (portraits,landscapes, and still life) as the subject matter. Students will learn and utilize two techniques (graphite transfer and grid technique) to first develop their compositions. Semester at a Glance Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Tools and Styles and Foundation Overview – Art History Students will get familiar with tools and the history of watercolor. Students will learn brushstroke styles and color theory. 2 Color Theory and Techniques Students will learn color theory and learn about perspectives to develop a discerning eye. Cold press or hot press, and warm versus cool colors. Sketching techniques started. 3 Shading Still Life Students will select begin working on their still life sketch and outline. Students will learn shading, light versus dark colors and layering. 4 Landscapes and Animals and Pencil/ Charcoal Overlay Students will learn composition and balance. Students will sketch and begin their piece using animal subjects in a landscape. Students will combine both pencil/ charcoal work and watercolor overlay. 5 Salt Technique with Planets and Outerspace Students will paint planets in their third watercolor artwork. Tips on how to improve through different brush size and salt overlay/technique. 6 Glazing and Layering Techniques Students will paint an underwater scene in their fourth artwork. Tips on glazing and layering. 7 Resist and Blending Techniques Students will learn about using gum glue to allow for negative space within their fifth artwork of choice. 8 Final Showcase How to photograph and document your artwork. Final exhibition with student sharing showcase and critique.
