In this LEGO Engineering class, students will use LEGO technic kits to build working machines and motorize them. Curriculum is written by an engineer and teaches the TEKS for both math and science. Learn about MLK Jr. and dream of a better world through your artwork! No dream is too big for this magical journey through the land of dreams! Semester at a Glance Week Artist Lesson/Activity 1 Saara Katariina Söderlund Dreamscape Collage Doodle Create a dreamscape collage using different types of paper printed magazines inspired by Söderlund’s illustrations. 2 None Dreamy Op Art Doodle Create an op art diptych by drawing positive and negative space compositions made up of contrasting black and white line patterns. 3 Roberto Aizenberg Roberto Aizenberg Card Soldier Doodle Make card soldier characters using neutral colors and geometric shapes inspired by Aizenberg’s surrealist style. 4 Paul Bond House in the Clouds Doodle Observe a still life of stacked rocks and create a painting with realistic and dreamlike imagery inspired by Mexican artist Paul Bond. 5 None Starlight Painted Rocks Doodle Create a starlight painted rock made from Model Magic® and paint star patterns while learning about the Milky Way and constellations. 6 Sherrie Levine MLK Jr. Dream Silhouette Doodle Create a drawing within a silhouette shape and share your dreams inspired by MLK Jr. and Levine’s photographs. 7 None Dream Catcher Doodle Create a dream catcher using shapes, patterns, watercolor and feathers while learning about Native American culture. 8 Creative Inspiration Showcase / Artist Challenge Children will select the materials for their creative inspiration and parents will be invited to join in on the fun.

Playing guitar—or any instrument—has a calming effect on the mind and body, it’s often said that music can soothe the soul. Simply listening to music has many benefits but learning to play an instrument can be even more beneficial. Playing a musical instrument is a brilliant way to express yourself and really focus on something you love. Semester at a Glance Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Guitar Basics Students will get familiar with the guitar and learn how to hold and tune their guitar. 2 Naming all the Parts of a Guitar Students will learn all the vocabulary and terms related to the guitar. 3 Strumming, Picking, Strings 1-6 Students will learn how to strum the guitar using their fingers/pick. 4 “Quite Guitars” and “Table Top” Students will learn how to quiet their guitar and how to place their guitar on their lap. 5 Playing Strings 1-6 Students will play along with the instructor as the instructor calls out the numbers of each individual string. 6 Song Introduction A new song will be introduced to the students along with various key stroke warmups. 7 Playing Students will play various songs. 8 Recital Day Parents will be invited to the last class to see their child’s performance.

This introductory level food literacy program teaches simple cooking techniques, food origins, seasonal recipes, and kitchen safety while having hands-on fun! Students gain self- confidence and priceless life skills while reinforcing core academics. Each session brings a different themed syllabus. This class can accommodate nut allergies. Instructors are professionally trained classroom educators, chefs, or nutritionists. We will accommodate nut allergies only. Your children will be introduced to all major styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop in an upbeat and encouraging atmosphere. Classes are tailored to each school and the interest of the students in the class. Practice choreography for the showcase. 7 Modern/Preparation for Parent Showcase Review skills learned, floor spins, animal dance charades, dance with ribbons. Practice choreography for the showcase. 8 Parent Showcase Parents will be invited to see the students’ performance.
