Robotics in Digital Arts

In iCode's Game Development course, students will gain hands-on insight into iCode’s project-based STEM curriculum, learning foundational concepts in digital arts, stop motion, and programming. Additionally, they will gain exposure to critical soft skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills needed to thrive in school and in the workplace.

Semester at a Glance

Week Skill Lesson/Activity
1 Introduction to Digital Art Students will create their own digital art on laptops and learn about different types of digital art.
2 Stop Motion Animation Students will create their own stop-motion video using Play-Doh or paper, learning object manipulation.
3 Digital Music Composition Students will use a program to create their own rhythm and digital song, exploring digital music.
4 3D Digital Sculpting Students will sculpt a 3D object digitally, exploring a different form of digital art.
5 Animations with Scratch Introduction to programming using Scratch to create another form of digital art, an animation.
6 Scratch Robot Creations Students will use Scratch to create fan and car robots, testing their programming skills.
7 Drill Robot Construction Students will create their own drill robot, learning about gears and motion/force.
8 Design a physical drawing for their robot to execute. Students will sketch and program a drawing robot, working on their final project.
9 Robot Program Testing Students will test their robot’s program to match their drawings, continuing work on the final project.
10 Final Presentation Students will finalize their projects and present them, showcasing their skills and creativity.
