    Let your imagination and ideas take you wherever you want to go! Students will be challenged to use LEGO pieces to create a structure or setting using LEGO elements.  Students will engage with hands-on experience including fun and problem-solving activities and be encouraged to tell a story about their creations. Students will learn to identify build pieces and their function required to build structures towards the next step into Robotics. Semester at a Glance Week Build Lesson/Activity 1 Getting to Know your Elements Students will be challenged to explore kit pieces and be able to identify the element and build a movable invention. 2 Build a Car Students will build a car and have a formula race. 3 Build the Tallest Building Students will be asked to use their imagination and build a tall building that has structure integrity and an added challenge students must make something that moves on the building. 4 Where did the Dinosaurs go? Students will learn about dinosaurs. Students will build a dinosaur sanctuary and create stories about how to save a dinosaur. 5 It’s a Zoo Life Students will be encouraged to share their day at the zoo and each group will be assigned to care for specific animals that they would see the zoo. 6 Once Upon a Farm Students will learn about farm animals and must build and create a place in the build for the farm animals to sleep, eat and drink. 7 Pet Shop, Pet Adoption and Dog Bark Park Students will learn about how taking care of a pet takes a lot of responsibility and lots of love. 8 Let’s go to the beach! Parent Showcase Students will learn ocean life and animals and create a story scene after each build students will share a story about the build.

    Does your child LOVE to cook? Do you have a picky eater? This introductory level food literacy program teaches simple cooking techniques, food origins, seasonal recipes, and kitchen safety while having hands-on fun! Students gain self- confidence and priceless life skills while reinforcing core academics. Each session brings a different themed syllabus. This class can accommodate nut allergies. Instructors are professionally trained classroom educators, chefs, or nutritionists. We will accommodate nut allergies only.   • Hip-Hop Dance

    Students will explore various hip-hop dance styles, techniques, and choreography, allowing them to express themselves creatively. This engaging activity not only enhances physical fitness and coordination but also fosters teamwork and boosts self-esteem. At the end of the course, students will showcase their skills in a final performance. Semester at a Glance Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Basics & Foundation Students will get familiar with basic moves and foundational techniques. They will explore performing skills. 2 Understanding dance and performing Students will learn the terminology and concepts related to dance. They will go over their basics choreography and practice performing skills 3 Basic Footwork and Grooves Students will practice essential footwork and grooves used in hip-hop dance. 4 Popping and Locking Techniques/performing etiquette Students will be introduced to popping and locking, focusing on isolations and controlled movements. Rehearse group work and solos. 5 Introduction to Freestyle Students will explore freestyle dancing to enhance creativity and personal expression. 6 Choreography Introduction A new hip-hop routine will be introduced, with students learning the first part of the choreography. 7 Mid-Choreography Practice Students will continue to learn and practice the middle section of the choreography. 8 Final Showcase Students will perform the choreographed routine in a showcase, demonstrating their skills and creativity.

    Join this invention packed class where problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity will be challenged with time-based challenges. Kids will collaborate, construct, test, succeed, and fail to solve problems that stretch their minds and reinforce hands-on science and engineering principles. Semester at a Glance Week Challenge name Description 1 Ski Slalom Speedway Understand the scientific meaning of Force as it relates to slalom skiing. Design a Ski Slalom Speedway that functions like the prototype. 2 Spirit Rally at Sharky’s Bank Learn about some famous entrepreneurs and their achievements and what it means to be an entrepreneur. Apply the STEAMbuilding steps (i.e. the Scientific Process) to build a mechanical savings bank. 3 City Planner Speedway Learn about magnets, poles, attraction, and repulsion and about new, pollution free alternatives for transportation. Collaborate with their team to design and build a new city. 4 Assistive Graber Device Design and build a grabber device, teams build their prototype which they test, evaluate, and make improvements. 5 Elephant Prosthetic Challenge Brainstorm and design a prosthetic leg for an elephant. Teams will test it out on human knee, so it must be safe, comfortable and stay on when they walk. 6 Water Turbine Learn about hydroelectric generators and how they convert mechanical energy into electricity. Design and build a water turbine and teams can compare the amount of weights their different designs will lift. 7 Suspension Bridge Learn about the structure and use of a suspension bridge. Construct a physical prototype: starting with plans and ideas, using materials to build the physical model. 8 Candle Carousel Design and build your own candle carousel and investigate how the spinning speed of the carousel is related to the number of candles you use to power it. How fast can you make it spin?
  • Robotics in Digital Arts

    In iCode's Game Development course, students will gain hands-on insight into iCode’s project-based STEM curriculum, learning foundational concepts in digital arts, stop motion, and programming. Additionally, they will gain exposure to critical soft skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills needed to thrive in school and in the workplace. Semester at a Glance Week Skill Lesson/Activity 1 Introduction to Digital Art Students will create their own digital art on laptops and learn about different types of digital art. 2 Stop Motion Animation Students will create their own stop-motion video using Play-Doh or paper, learning object manipulation. 3 Digital Music Composition Students will use a program to create their own rhythm and digital song, exploring digital music. 4 3D Digital Sculpting Students will sculpt a 3D object digitally, exploring a different form of digital art. 5 Animations with Scratch Introduction to programming using Scratch to create another form of digital art, an animation. 6 Scratch Robot Creations Students will use Scratch to create fan and car robots, testing their programming skills. 7 Drill Robot Construction Students will create their own drill robot, learning about gears and motion/force. 8 Final Presentation Students will finalize their projects and present them, showcasing their skills and creativity.

    Come serve it up with TGA Premier Youth Tennis! TGA’s curriculum includes games, drills and physical fitness activities that improve motor skills, agility, and hand-eye coordination. Every TGA class focuses on academic concepts developed by educational experts, the rules and etiquette of tennis and skill development. Our goal is to not only develop our student’s tennis skills, but to give children the building blocks for future achievement on the tennis court and in life. All equipment will be provided.   • Watercolor Pencils

    This fun visual art class focuses on creating compositions using traditional visions (portraits,landscapes, and still life) as the subject matter. Students will learn and utilize two techniques (graphite transfer and grid technique) to first develop their compositions. Semester at a Glance Week Skills Lesson/Activity 1 Tools and Styles and Foundation Overview – Art History Students will get familiar with tools and the history of watercolor. Students will learn brushstroke styles and color theory. 2 Color Theory and Techniques Students will learn color theory and learn about perspectives to develop a discerning eye. Cold press or hot press, and warm versus cool colors. Sketching techniques started. 3 Shading Still Life Students will select begin working on their still life sketch and outline. Students will learn shading, light versus dark colors and layering. 4 Landscapes and Animals and Pencil/ Charcoal Overlay Students will learn composition and balance. Students will sketch and begin their piece using animal subjects in a landscape. Students will combine both pencil/ charcoal work and watercolor overlay. 5 Salt Technique with Planets and Outerspace Students will paint planets in their third watercolor artwork. Tips on how to improve through different brush size and salt overlay/technique. 6 Glazing and Layering Techniques Students will paint an underwater scene in their fourth artwork. Tips on glazing and layering. 7 Resist and Blending Techniques Students will learn about using gum glue to allow for negative space within their fifth artwork of choice. 8 Final Showcase How to photograph and document your artwork. Final exhibition with student sharing showcase and critique.
